Three
Local Artists Demonstrate Painting, Collage and Beading
Saturday, July 26 from 1 to 3 p.m.
Hello Galena
gallery will host its second “Meet the Artists” event on Saturday,
July 26 from 1 to 3 p.m. This free event is designed for art
lovers of all ages.
July’s “Meet
the Artists” event features live demonstrations from three Hello
Galena artists: painter Hendrica Regez, collage designer Karen
Stockwell, and jewelry creator Kimberley Poe-Jensen of “Beaded
Delights on Hill.”
Hendrica
Regez
will paint on site, providing visitors an inside look at her
creations. The public will be introduced to her wide use of
color and emotion-evoking paintings.
Karen
Stockwell
will put together her collage vases, pins and other jewelry-type
items. See how different paper images can become one piece of
beautiful art.
Kimberley
Poe-Jensen,
of “Beaded Delights on Hill,” will create one-of-a-kind jewelry
and will have a table set up for children and adults to create
their own piece of jewelry, with her assistance. A minimum fee
of $7 will be charged per bracelet to cover the cost of materials
for those who wish to sit down and create their own jewelry.
Poe-Jensen
welcomes large groups of people who want to bead with her during
the demonstration.
“Bring your
friends or your children and pick out beads in any array of
colors. Then enjoy the creative process. I will help you with
the details,” she said. She said that both boys and girls are
encouraged to try beading a bracelet.
“Both my
3-year-old daughter and my 5-year-old son love to bead with
me. They make earrings, bracelets and necklaces. I just help
them finish the piece with a clasp or other findings that are
needed,” she said.
The public
is invited to meet these local artists and view their work,
which is also for sale at Hello Galena.
