Galena! Announces Its Winter Show
Hello
Galena!, an artist co-op, is featuring 100% locally made Winter
Masterpieces and offers the chance to meet the artists. Displays
of winter-themed art can be seen at the shop at 121 N. Commerce
St. From original paintings, prints, and cards to cozy handcrafted
mittens, scarves, and hats, there are one-of-a-kind treasures
waiting to warm each shopper's body and soul.
Meet
and greet the artists who staff the art-only shop on weekends
(Friday - Sunday) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Mondays and Thursdays
from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The following artists are featured this
weekend.
Friday,
January 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. meet artist Barbara
Kellar, who paints Galena historical sites on clear
orname nts.
From 1-5 p.m. meet Jacquie Dyrke, acrylic artist who
paints dimensional animals on naturally formed granite or limestone
rocks.
Saturday,
January 28, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. meet Colleen Yonda,
who creates cards, postcards and other Galena-named items. From
1-5 p.m. meet craftsman Grant
Barlow, who turns wood into functional art pieces, including
bowls and pens.
 Sunday,
January 29,
from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. meet Russell Vestuto,
a woodworker who designs and builds children's toys with movable
parts. From 1-5 p.m. meet fiber artist Helen Mayberry,
who creates warm, wearable art for winter days.
Hello
Galena! is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization made up of
more than 65 local artists. Their artwork and signature gift
items are displayed at 121 N. Commerce Street, Galena, Ill.
